The Alexasoft X-series programs can use any PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) compatible digital cameras. All main camera functions (preview, focal length, image size, release shutter, loading, etc.) can be directly controlled by the program and settings can be associated with the system calibration memory (current objective). When the current objective is changed the system will restore the previously associated camera settings and will maintain the correct calibration.

New function for manual and automatic editing of an image formed by adjacent images with common borders in both orientations (virtual slide). During editing, in the manual mode, the overlapping area of the two images is displayed with transparency effects. Windows can then be resized and moved with the mouse and with the direction buttons in the control dialog (with pixel-by-pixel motion) until the correct superimposition of the two images is obtained. The resulting image can then be used for further editing. Maximum size of the final image is approximately 30,000x30,000 pixels. New graphic representation for Vickers hardness test.
